Australia is a great place to live and work. We have great strategies to help nurses living overseas to gain registration and migrate independently.

How can I migrate without employer-sponsorship?

The General Skilled Migration Program (or "GSM") is designed for skilled workers who have talents in demand in Australia but are not sponsored by an employer. This program operates on a points-based system, awarding points for various factors like age, work experience, educational qualifications, and language proficiency. The higher your points, the better your chances of receiving an invitation to apply for a visa.

Types of Visas Under GSM

The GSM Program offers several types of visas, each with its own requirements and benefits:

Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa:

This visa is for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer or family member. It allows you to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident. The best part? You can live anywhere in Australia without being tied to a specific state or territory.

Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated Visa:

For this visa, you'll need to be nominated by an Australian state or territory. Like the Subclass 189, it leads to permanent residency and allows you to live and work in Australia. However, you’ll need to live and work in the nominating state or territory for at least two years.

Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa:

This provisional visa requires you to live and work in a designated regional area of Australia for at least three years. After fulfilling these requirements, you can apply for permanent residency. It’s a fantastic option if you’re open to exploring Australia’s beautiful regional areas.

It's worth noting that after only 3 years, you are eligible to transition to the Subclass 191 visa, which grants permanent residency independent of any further sponsorship requirements.
