🩺 What Is the ANMAC Full Skills Assessment?

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) assesses whether your nursing qualification and background meet Australian standards.

The Full Skills Assessment is only available to nurses who completed their entire initial nursing education as a Bachelor of Nursing in one of the five approved countries listed above.

🛑 This does not apply if you:

  • Studied a Diploma (even if later “topped up” to a Bachelor)

  • Gained your registration through a Master’s program

  • Did your Bachelor in another country outside the approved list

You must have completed the full degree in the approved country for ANMAC to accept your qualification under the Full Skills Assessment pathway.

🧾 What Visas Require a Skills Assessment?

To apply for most skilled visas in Australia, a positive skills assessment from ANMAC is essential. This includes:

  • ✅ Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent visa)

  • ✅ Subclass 190 (State-Nominated Skilled visa)

  • ✅ Subclass 491 (Regional State-Nominated Skilled visa)

  • 🔸 Most employer-sponsored visas, depending on the occupation code and subclass

Without a valid ANMAC assessment, you won’t be eligible to lodge an Expression of Interest or visa application under these skilled migration pathways.


💸 What’s the Cost?

As of 2025, the application fee for the ANMAC Full Skills Assessment is AUD $545.

This includes assessment of your:

  • Bachelor qualification

  • Identity documents

  • English language proficiency

  • Proof of professional experience (where relevant)

This is higher than the Modified or Modified PLUS assessments, but in exchange, you gain a faster, more flexible pathway to permanent residency.
