If you completed your entire Bachelor of Nursing degree (not a Master’s) in one of the following countries:
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
🇺🇸 United States
🇮🇪 Ireland
🇨🇦 Canada
🇭🇰 Hong Kong
…you may be eligible for the ANMAC Full Skills Assessment—a streamlined assessment process that can help you start your visa application without delays.
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) assesses whether your nursing qualification and background meet Australian standards.
The Full Skills Assessment is only available to nurses who completed their entire initial nursing education as a Bachelor of Nursing in one of the five approved countries listed above.
🛑 This does not apply if you:
Studied a Diploma (even if later “topped up” to a Bachelor)
Gained your registration through a Master’s program
Did your Bachelor in another country outside the approved list
You must have completed the full degree in the approved country for ANMAC to accept your qualification under the Full Skills Assessment pathway.
Unlike other assessment pathways, the Full Skills Assessment lets you apply for your skills assessment and AHPRA registration at the same time.
That means you don’t need to wait for AHPRA registration before submitting your ANMAC application. This can save months of processing time and get your visa started earlier.
It’s one of the only pathways where you can begin your skilled migration process before obtaining registration in Australia.
To apply for most skilled visas in Australia, a positive skills assessment from ANMAC is essential. This includes:
✅ Subclass 189 (Skilled Independent visa)
✅ Subclass 190 (State-Nominated Skilled visa)
✅ Subclass 491 (Regional State-Nominated Skilled visa)
🔸 Most employer-sponsored visas, depending on the occupation code and subclass
Without a valid ANMAC assessment, you won’t be eligible to lodge an Expression of Interest or visa application under these skilled migration pathways.
As of 2025, the application fee for the ANMAC Full Skills Assessment is AUD $545.
This includes assessment of your:
Bachelor qualification
Identity documents
English language proficiency
Proof of professional experience (where relevant)
This is higher than the Modified or Modified PLUS assessments, but in exchange, you gain a faster, more flexible pathway to permanent residency.
Applying under the wrong skills assessment category or submitting incorrect documentation can delay or derail your entire migration plan.
At SOLVi Migration, our legal team will assess your qualifications and guide you through the entire process—from AHPRA and ANMAC through to your visa application.
We’re not agents—we’re a law firm with deep expertise in skilled migration for nurses.
